Sunday Brunching. Albion Farm Shop & Cafe, Saddleworth.

Updated: Oct 28, 2020

Rolling out of bed at 8:30am after a lie in on a Sunday, (yes 8:30am is a lie in when you have a hyperactive 18 month old) a spontaneous plan was hatched to find some Sunday Brunching.

After a quick message out on our local what’s app group asking for the best local -ish spots, we had so many recommendations for Albion Farm Shop& Cafe in Saddleworth and I’ll tell you now, it totally lived up to expectations!

The first thing you notice as you pull into the car park is the incredibly beautiful view of rolling greenery. There is ample free parking on site which makes this city girl jump for joy, after many a weekend trip into town driving around for hours trying to find parking.

As we are still in the midst of COVID, they are now taking bookings only and all safety measures are in place, they ask you to wear masks till you’re seated, there is a one way system and hand sanitizer at the door.

I started immediately with a coffee, because even after that “lie in” this mumma needed a caffeine hit to breathe some life into my veins. I was honestly so happily surprised as a self proclaimed coffee snob, firstly that they offered milk alternatives (lactose intolerance win!) and that it was a very decent cup of coffee- soy flat white for those interested.

The current breakfast menu is short but sweet, a traditional English breakfast, a “light” version, a veggie breakfast, a bacon or sausage roll or bacon and pancakes. The servings are generous so Fenwick and I tucked into the pancakes, and I can’t tell you who enjoyed them more! High chairs for the little man, which sounds silly but makes a parents life so much easier, rather than having to wrestle them in their pranks or trying to keep them on an adult chair.

Bellies full, bill paid, (£28 for 3 breakfasts and 3 drinks which in my opinion is great value for you get) we headed out to explore the farm shop and little ice cream shed outside. All in all a perfect Sunday brunch spot and a firm new family favourite! If you live nearby in East Manchester, or even if you don’t, it’s well worth a visit, I will definitely be heading back again soon.

Have you visited already? Where are your favourite brunching spots?
